Joanna set up her consultancy in 1998 to find a different balance in her life and rediscover her passion for developing others to achieve their potential.
In more than 30 years, Joanna’s career has taken her round the public and not for profit sectors as a senior manager, board member, and consultant. She offers a specialist focus on governance, leadership, and refining business strategy. As well as her experience of working for charities she brings relevant experience from working in other sectors as a consultant, a non-executive director, and a hands-on volunteer. It means she understands the pressures and competing priorities her clients face and tailors her support to ensure her clients achieve their aspirations for themselves and their organisations.
She trained with Management Futures; a leading coaching practice based in London and has the Certificate in Leadership Mentoring and Executive Coaching, accredited with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
Joanna has been a Board member of various housing associations; including successfully chairing a large charitable stock transfer association, Somer Community Housing Trust (10,000 dwellings and now Curo), being a founding member and first Chair of the Somer Housing Group Board and being on the Board of a specialist association, Shape, supporting vulnerable young people. Before setting up her consultancy she was a senior manager for housing associations; her last role being assistant director for Anchor Trust responsible for 2,000 staff in southern England. She has been treasurer and company secretary of a positive action initiative (South West Mentoring Scheme) and is a trained mediator (workplace with Mediation at Work, and neighbourhood mediation with Bristol Mediation).
She feels privileged to work with organisations that are making significant differences for people and their communities. Living near Wells, Somerset, she volunteers for Sustainable Wells and in her local Oxfam bookshop and sings in a community choir.
Joanna works with carefully selected associates on key assignments.
